American Football And History

American football down the football (soccer) and rugby. These two disciplines are codified in England introduced in North America since 1861 for football (soccer) and in 1864 or 1865 for rugby. The first rugby match played on the American continent is probably played in Toronto in 1864 or in 1865 in Montreal. The Canadian branch will give rise to Canadian football. Frank Dombrowski (left) of the United States and Captain W. Drinkwater of Canada, and captains of rival teams playing a game Canada-United States at the White City Stadium in London on 14 February 1944. In the U.S., the teams also practice rugby and football (soccer). This is an opportunity for confusion. Thus, for a long time, we found that the first football match was held on 6 November 1869: Rutgers needed 6-4 face the College of New Jersey (later Princeton). According to research by historian Stephen Fox, the game Ball in New York could be a game of football (soccer). Princeton [1] and the NFL [2] now admit that version. Canadians offer Americans a university rugby match between the Montreal McGill University students to Harvard, which does not practice at all football. It plays a part-time under the rules of each university. Indeed, each school has its own regulations, as was the case in Europe a few years earlier. Harvard adopted in 1875 as the regulation enacted by Yale, but it is always a mix of rugby and football (soccer), named "combination" in Europe. It was not until 23 November 1876, and the famous "Massasoit Convention," to see the establishment of common rules at several American universities. In fact, they adopt all the laws of the federation of English rugby with the exception of one detail, the counting of points. American football clearly different from its ancestors is still to create. Between 1880 and 1883, Walter Camp, Yale coach, changes in the rules and the spirit of the game: a reduction of players from 15 to 11, reducing the surface of the ground and introduction of scrimmage. These changes in Walter Camp are supplemented by others in the same period: a team must give the ball to the opponent if it failed to advance five yards in three attempts. American football was born. The former professional players are registered in 1892-1893, but it was not until 1896 to see the first team composed entirely of professional players, "Allegheny Athletic Association. A year later, "Latrobe Athletic Association is the first team to complete a full season with a composed exclusively of professional players (1897). Completed the first pass of 27 October 1906. Before that date, forward passes were not allowed. The National Football League (NFL) is being set up in 1920 to put an end to the chaos that reigns then in the world of football. American football a long time confined to the United States where he became the number one sport, to baseball, since the 1970s. Notable exception, Japan, requires American influence, which compete for a championship university since 1947. The game was introduced in Europe in the late 1970s and early 1980s. A federation of international football was created in 1998
