Swine flu: football matches behind closed doors in Mexico

The two football matches in First Division professional scheduled Sunday in Mexico City will be played behind closed doors because of the swine flu epidemic which has 20 officially dead, and probably 60 in the capital. This is the Mexican Football Federation has announced the information Friday.

"The meetings Guadajalara and Pumas-America-Tecos will compete Sunday in camera. The public will be admitted to other meetings, "said the spokesman for the Federation, Juan Jose Kochen.

The Mexican authorities have recommended that people avoid public places, public transport, bars and other enclosed spaces, and avoid kissing and shaking hands.

Museums and theaters in the capital are closed, like all schools, colleges and public and private universities.

People in the capital Friday wearing a surgical mask to avoid contamination.
