Jermaine Jones, American

International German Schalke 04, Jermaine Jones, could take advantage of new regulations of FIFA and represent at the next World Cup, the United States. It would be a first in the world.
A fortnight ago, at the FIFA Congress held in Nassau, an important decision was taken in a certain anonymity. Important because it could change the lives of many selections. Indeed, it is now possible for a player with dual nationality to play for another selection, with no age limit (previously set at 21 years). Under one condition: that the footballer did not participate in qualifying matches and a final phase of a tournament. This is the case of Jermaine Jones, midfielder Schalke 04.
This morning, the German Football Federation (DFB) announced that the player, aged 27, wanted to play for the United States rather than for Germany. International three times, Jones is no longer retained by the breeder Joachim Löw since November. Tired of this situation, he wants to take advantage of his dual nationality, his father was American, to join the team of Bob Bradley. Second area of Concacaf, the United States is almost assured of playing the next World Cup. The American dream of Jermaine Jones has never been so close to coming true. If FIFA accepts this request, it should in the near future to reflect many footballers bars selection.
