(Boursier.com) - Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. (HFM U.S.), the American subsidiary of Lagardère Active and Bonnier Corp.. announced today the acquisition of five publications Bonnier specialized HFM U.S.: Popular Photography, Flying, Boating, Sound & Vision and American Photo. HFM U.S. for this operation is a strategic move, announced long to make a focus on target segments: the feminine and automotive, while selling its magazines which, to date, less than 10% of its print business in the USA. It is also to allocate the resources needed to deploy bi media (print and digital) of these segments. "We are pleased that Bonnier Corp. has acquired securities of our niche and we believe that these five brands will benefit in their new environment for synergy and support conducive to the acceleration of their development," said Alain Lemarchand, President of Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S.. The transaction, effective today, allows Bonnier Corp. to strengthen its leadership in the magazines of interest, with nearly 50 titles, including Popular Science, Saveur, Parenting, Field & Stream and a number of marine publications. This is the third acquisition of Bonnier Corp. in recent months following those of Working Mother and Scubing Diving.
